I joined fintech startup Crezco as their first design hire and Head of UX Design, initially solo before hiring and building a design team. After dealing with redesigning the core payment experience, the next big project was a complete overhaul and massive expansion of the Customer Dashboard.

The original dashboard just allowed customers to connect a bank account, send a simple payment link, and see how many payments had been received via the link. The new dashboard would not just improve usability and provide more indepth information, but also allowed the company to roll out a host of new features - such as creating multi-user organisations, verifying company details, conducting anti-money laundering (AML) checks, and allowing organisations to customise their payment link branding.

Later more new features rolled into the dashboard, including international money transfers which required additional user onboarding and verification, integration with the completely new Accounts Payable platform that allows users to pay bills (send money) rather than just receive payments, all the while trying to improve the experience by designing a clean and clear UI and providing instructions and guidance for customers where appropriate.

The ongoing dashboard design and iteration involved continuous collaboration, both with the development team to juggle a complete design overhaul with incremental improvements, as well as continuous prototyping and user testing with beta testing customers. In addition to this, the design of the dashboard and payment experience fed into the creation and documentation of a complete design system, which helped standardise design across the various apps and accelerate future designs.
